Demeter is commonly known as the Goddess of Agriculture. Harvest, fertility and earth.
When it comes to organics and Biodynamic culture, Demeter is a global regulatory body. There is a regular strict inspection from the governing body in order to hold this certification.
The Demeter certification has an holistic approach. It is the mark for products from biodynamic agriculture and it has been evolving since 1928, therefore the oldest and longest practiced form of quality assurance in sustainable agriculture!
ALL of Martina Gebhardts products are certified Demeter and we think that’s important.
One of the important differences is the number of permitted additives. Here is an image giving information that shows an important difference between the certifications:
It would be hard to miss the news that it is Organic September! This is a time brought about by The Soil Association. It is a time for us to focus on, well organics! It’s all about restoring nature, health and a safe climate. This is what the soil association say it is all about:
‘In the face of climate change, diet related ill-health and widespread decline in wildlife, the need to change our food systems has never been greater.
Organic September is a month-long campaign to raise awareness of the many benefits of organic food and farming, which include:
Supporting biodiversity and wildlife
Helping to combat climate change
The highest standards of animal welfare
Reduced exposure to pesticides
Food as it should be, and food you can trust’
We need first of all to care and secondly to do. This way we begin to restore our world and let’s face it out world needs a little restoration right now. This is a month to help us focus down on what can we do as individuals, families, and workplaces to further increase our contribution.
Fall, leaves, fall; die, flowers, away; Lengthen night and shorten day; Every leaf speaks bliss to me Fluttering from the autumn tree.
